IMPORTANT NEW COVID-19 PROTOCOLS
Updated September 14, 2021
Capilano Community Services Society (CCSS) continues to take safety precautions to protect our staff, volunteers and program participants from COVID-19. Capacity limits and modifications have been made to our programs and services to ensure your safety and well-being.
In order to participate in CCSS programs or events you must:
Have pre-registered in your program (even if it is free).
Have no symptoms of COVID-19 and agree to inform us if you test positive for COVID-19.
Accept the risk of possible illness due to your participation.
When visiting our site, check-in with the volunteer at the front door and wait outside unless invited to enter the building.
Wear a mask at all times inside the centre and when traveling in a CCSS bus or vehicle.
Sanitize your hands frequently.
Not eat inside the centre, or in CCSS's bus or vehicle.
Report to a staff member if you feel unwell before, during or after participating in a program hosted by CCSS.
CCSS staff or volunteers will notify participants in advance of situations requiring proof of vaccination. Note that many public venues or events will require visitors to:
Show proof of at least one COVID-19 vaccination as of September 13.
As of October 24, 2021, show proof of two COVID-19 vaccinations completed at least seven days prior.
We have issued a Senior's Hub Safety Policy [PDF] outlining our protocols to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection.
Proof of vaccination is not currently required for CCSS youth programs and services unless required by the activity’s third-party host or venue, or for designated activities for youth 19 years and older. Our Youth Outreach Workers will ensure all activities are compliant with current provincial health orders. We have updated our Youth Program Safety Policy [PDF].
RED CROSS Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP)
Our HELP program has been deemed an essential service by the Red Cross and is open Mondays and Fridays from 9am to 1pm; Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 4pm. Clients of this program are requested to line up outside the building and will be greeted by a volunteer (in keeping with physical distancing protocols).
