Let’s start this wonderful Labour Day with this seven-minute good morning chair exercise program from a pair of well-respected physiotherapists. As always, only do what is comfortable. I think this might be a video that you use more than just today.
Here is a brief history of Labour Day:
Now let’s see how we do on this quiz which, although based on American Labour Day, I thought was interesting and sometimes funny. Good luck with what you know about our neighbours’ Labour Day.
I usually celebrate my Labour Day weekend canning fruit (peaches mostly), homemade pasta sauce, ketchup and salsa as well as freezing many pounds of seasonal fruits for winter smoothies for my children. Did you do canning with or for your family? I came across this video and thought I would share it with you.
Let me introduce (or re-introduce) you to a lovely hike in our own backyard. Rice Lake is located in North Vancouver and begins from the gates at the end of Lillooet Road in the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve. The hiking trail is an easy walk or jog, and perfect for just about any season, rain or shine. Here is a great video introduction to this relatively easy hike.
Here is a great way to end the day - the 1975 version of William Shakespeare’s Love’s Labours Lost, starring Jeremy Brett and Martin Shaw.
If you want a bonus way to end the day, Labour Day style, here’s a fabulous Labour Day Fireworks display from Niagara Falls.
I hope that you had a good day.
Stay safe and I hope you check back in next week - Monday, Sept. 12.
