Lions Gate Virtual Views, September 26, 2022

Welcome to Lions Gate Virtual Views. We are glad that you can escape with us on these weekly virtual journeys!

Please email Melanie with any feedback or suggestions for future program content. Enjoy!

Let’s start the day with this great routine to the tunes from the 1950s and ‘60s. Don’t forget to only do what is comfortable to you and make sure you take water breaks if you need them.

We know that keeping our brain active is important as we age. I came across this video of Dr. Wendy Suzuki (neuroscientist) giving a TED talk on the benefits of exercise on the brain. I hope that you enjoy this and that you are getting both the physical and mental exercise that your body needs.

If you would still like to challenge your brain today, I encourage you to try this website for Wordle Unlimited.

Are you looking for some good fall soup recipes? I love this video because all the recipes look easy and yummy AND because of the last sentence she says in the video (spoiler alert) “You can freeze them individually and take them to work.”

Let’s get some time outside in nature with this beautiful 4 km Autumn walk with relaxing music. Do you recognize any of the places? I hope this has encouraged you to get out and enjoy the outdoors.

I have always wanted to take my children to the UBC Apple Festival. While we never got there, I thought that I would share this opportunity with you.

As you know music is important for so many reasons. I found this video that has both the video and lyrics to some wonderful oldies.

This past week, My Parkgate Break members came up with 50 tv shows that they liked to watch as children, young adults or watch with their children. I thought that it might be a fun way to end the evening with a blast from the 1950’s past and the tv show My Little Margie.

I hope you had a great day.

Please send us your feedback. It will help us build a better program for YOU.

Stay safe and I hope you check back in next week - Monday, Sept. Oct. 3.
