Lions Gate Virtual Views - January 20, 2021

Welcome to Lions Gate Virtual Views. We hope that you can escape with us on these weekly virtual journeys!

Please email Melanie with any feedback or suggestions for future program content. Enjoy!

I think starting our day with some exercise is always a good idea. Here are some stretching exercises that you can attempt every day. Remember to only do what feels good. Don’t push yourself too hard. We don’t want any injuries.

Okay, you know what’s coming -  brain exercises! Here is an Oldies Trivia Quiz. Don’t worry if you didn’t know the answers.

I hope that you are ready for lunch. Here are some easy and healthy sandwich recipes. You may not have the ingredients for today’s lunch but you might want to try one of these another day.

Laughter is said to be the best medicine. Let’s have a bit of a laugh (at ourselves). Here is Fritz Coleman, Keynote Speaker at the 2014 Pasadena Conference on Aging.

I am a big believer in the physiological, psychological and emotional benefits of laughter. Let’s see what the Mayo Clinic says about the power of laughter.

I don’t know about you but I often tested my brain watching the TV show Jeopardy with Alex Trebek. I was saddened to hear that Mr. Trebek died in November, 2020 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Here is the December 31, 2020 episode. Good luck! I for one couldn’t keep up with these questions. (If you want to know more about Alex Trebek this would be a good place to learn about a man who hosted the same game show for 37 seasons.)

I hope that you have enjoyed the activities and videos today. Here is one last one which is a fascinating documentary about the hidden seals of Siberia.

Please send us your feedback. It will help us build a better program for YOU.

See you next Wednesday, Jan. 27.
