My Virtual Lions Gate BREAK
My Virtual Lions Gate BREAK - April 12, 2021
I hope that you had a good weekend. The United Nations celebrates the International Day of Human Space Flight on April 12 each year, commemorating the first human space flight on April 12, 1961.
I will find interesting space-related information for today’s program, like this:
Before we get our own exercise, I thought you might like to see how the astronauts keep in shape on the international space station. Here’s a pretty cool place to go for a run:
Let’s get our own exercise with one of my favourite chair exercise workouts with Paul Eugene. Make sure that you don’t overdo it, and remember to smile.
Test your knowledge with this Space Trivia Quiz. Good luck, and remember you can pause the video if you want more time to consider your answer.
As I was searching for information about space a few interesting and humorous videos struck me, which I thought I would share.
Here is Karen Nyberg showing how to wash your hair in space:
Here's Expedition Commander Chris Cassidy’s video on how to use the bathroom in space. I can totally see how he is trying not to laugh and that his colleagues must be chuckling at him doing this video.
And here's one last funny video, pizza night in space:
Let’s end our day with a really great movie about Mars. A bit of an action-adventure, but also a lesson in resourcefulness and perseverance. I hope you enjoy The Martian, starring Matt Damon, from 2015.
If space isn’t your thing, not to worry, there is only one International Day of Human Space Flight each year, so be sure to come back next week for something new!
I hope you had a great day and that you stay healthy and safe.
See you next Monday, April 19.
